ART-PAPIER
endless possibilities

Handmade paper has been part of my life almost forever. I founded my first company, where I made paper by hand and promoted handicrafts, almost 30 years ago – says Flawiusz Pietrzyk, owner and founder of the ART-PAPIER paper mill. As usual, the beginnings were not easy. There were few similar companies on the market to learn from, recipes could only be found in old publications, and true masters of the craft were becoming ever fewer.

HOW IS
plantable handmade paper made?

Plantable handmade paper is an eco-friendly, fully biodegradable type of hand-made paper that contains seeds. It is made by hand. At ART-PAPIER we produce it from long-fibre cellulose and recycled paper. We grind everything thoroughly and mix it, adding the chosen seed mix at the very end. We then scoop the resulting pulp onto a mould, which gives the sheet its shape and size and lets excess water drain away.

HOW TO PLANT
our seed paper?

Plantable paper is a type of handmade paper with embedded seeds of flowers, herbs or vegetables. Once it has served as a message or packaging, you can give it a second life by planting it in soil. It doesn't matter whether you have a garden, a balcony or just a small windowsill. To plant a sheet of seed paper you will need: a planter or pot, potting soil and water.
